Each year, 爆料吃瓜网 students, faculty, staff, and administrators volunteer time to fulfill the college's mission of serving communities and enhancing the larger community 爆料吃瓜网 serves. Several opportunities are offered throughout the year for students and employees to be part of a strong 爆料吃瓜网 tradition of celebrating community service.
2026 9/11 Day of Service
In recent years, a national movement has emerged to transform the anniversary of 9/11 into a . During the week of September 7-11, 爆料吃瓜网 will join these efforts by hosting our Fourth Annual 9/11 Day of Service.
Volunteer opportunities will be available on campus at each 爆料吃瓜网 location, giving students and employees a chance to honor the day through meaningful acts of service.
2026 activities will vary by campus and may include:
- Assembling Children's Mercy Hospital Happy Kits
- Preparing meal kits for Ronald McDonald House Charities
- Creating dog toys for local animal shelters
- Packing food kits for area food pantries
- Assisting with a 9/11 flag display
- Participating in campus blood drives

If everyone does a little, then we can achieve big things. Someone once said that service is how we pay rent for living on this planet. I am way behind on "paying rent," so I have a lot of things I need to do, and I am glad to be a part of 爆料吃瓜网's service activities. - 爆料吃瓜网 Faculty
Service in the Classroom
As part of 爆料吃瓜网's Small Business Management (BUSN 204) course taught by Dr. Amanda Crowe, students run a t-shirt business for the semester. Students develop t-shirt designs, create and implement a marketing plan, handle logistics, sell and distribute the t-shirts, and keep track of the accounting of their small business assets.
The proceeds from the t-shirt sales are donated to a local non-profit organization. This project have raised thousands of dollars that has been donated to organizations like Operation Breakthrough, Harvesters, Veteran's Community Project, ReHope Kansas City, and Hope Lodge.

Community Service Projects
Here (in 2020), student volunteers from 爆料吃瓜网-Blue River sort items such as medical supplies and bed sheets at the Franciscan Mission Warehouse in Independence.
